I am curious to hear what kinds of development people do. There has been a big spike in web development over the years and that is what I do. I work mainly in front-end development working with JavaScript and React. In my free time I am working on learning Elixir and Phoenix as well as ReasonML and ReasonReact. I am really interested in functional programming languages and paradigms. What languages, tools, and frameworks, is everyone using?
It’s nice to hear that I am not alone in taking this direction of web development with JavaScript and React until now! The switch to web development has actually open doors to numerous fun things. Not only do I like your questioning about functional programming but also Phoenix being likened to some of some of this native cloud breeds - reconfigurable btw E.g. I manage to create microservices with the help of the Elixir fame platform on the fly as it is equally strong.
On my side, I deal with Python and Django for back-end development, and just beginning to learn TypeScript as a normal improvement of my JavaScript skills. Functional programming is becoming a common inclusion in numerous languages and notably they bring about different angles of quality and extendability; this leads me to understand them better.
What are some of the difficulties you encountered when you learned Elixir and ReasonML besides size?
